the Magic Raven has always been drawn to old buildings that somehow give him the feeling of looking back in time so  Brown's Mill on the road to the Audubon Kern River Preserve needed to be photographed.   The Raven pulled his car off the road and took the pictures you see here.  An official from the preserve saw his car and expressed her concern that he was on private property and that cows would see his car and use it as a scratching post.  the Magic Raven promised the docent it wouldn't touch the buildings and he would watch out for those itchy cows.  Of course there were no cows in the field to bother Raven's car but official people have to be official people.

On the trail through the preserve the Raven spotted this wonderful hulk of an old truck. I'm glad they left it there.  It fits.

River bottom land in the preserve looked like this                                        Great old Cottonwood tree

This old shack was for sale.  Mrs. Magic Raven was not   interested even though outdoor plumbing was available.

Perhaps shopping in the area did not quite meet the standards of Mrs. Magic Raven.
